Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Indiana

Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct care to patients following each patient’s Comprehensive Care Plan. The Registered Nurse reports to the Unit Manager on duty and works dynamically within an interprofessional team of medical professionals. Their primary duties focus on administering patient care and monitoring patient condition.

Responsibilities

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform client assessments and medical screenings at admission and monitor client’s status throughout treatment.
  • Assist physicians with developing individual treatment plans and implement and monitor those plans.
  • Communicate with clinical staff concerning client’s behavioral, emotional and mental state for proper treatment. 
  • Administer medications and provide pain management services.
  • Update and maintain client’s medical records and charts.
  • Educate clients about the dangers of substance abuse and various treatment options.
  • Provide emotional support to clients struggling with addiction, which may include organizing and facilitating support groups.
  • Meet with clients on an individual basis to offer medical support and education during their treatment.

Skills and Experience

  • One (1) year of nursing experience (Preferred).
  • One (1) year of nursing experience in Geriatric, Hospice & Palliative, and/or Long-term Care experience (Preferred).
  • Sympathetic bedside manner.
  • Ability to multitask and work interactively within a team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current active state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Ability to make safe judgment calls in client care.
  • Strong communication skills for educating clients about the dangers of substance abuse and their treatment options.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and data entry for maintaining client records.
